April 24th ~ 15 Minute Challenge

What a mess in my Sewing room Studio.  I always have a hard time referring to it as my Sewing Studio, but that is what it is.   Do you find it hard to refer to your creative area as a Sewing Studio, or do you call my Sewing Room or something else?  Need to get things - fabrics, threads and embellishment items sorted and put away.  Doesn't need to be perfect, I like some creative clutter but not the current mess.  Well, it might be another "Once in a Blue Moon" before it is ever so clean and organized again.

Definitely Spring . . .

More nice weather and then we got some unsettled weather conditions.  That means some wet snow, hail for sure with thunder and lightening, dark skies and rainbows.  The squall's blow through in an hour or two and gone.

Yet it is still warm during the daytime getting cold again at night.

See the Rhodies Bloom

The Rhododendrons are blooming.

The Azaleas are blooming.

Everything is so pretty.

We've had some nice warm days.

We sat out on the deck in the sun.

Maybe spring is here, at last.

Did I say everything is so pretty this time of year?

It is worth repeating.

The wild dogwood trees are full of blossoms.  More than we've had in years.

Antique Hand Fluter Iron

This is an Antique Hand Fluter Iron from 1866.  It is made of cast iron, made in Geneva, Illinois.  It is in pretty good shape considering its age.  There is one very tiny crack in the fluting.   I would love to know more about this antique fluting iron, please write me if you know about them.

Antique Coat Rack

A long time ago Derin found some antique brass coat hangers.

We bought several sets looking for just the right ones for Grandmother Laura's old coat rack.

This is the old style coat rack found many old homes.  They were common.  This one is a Mission Style Coat Rack or Hall Tree as they were called.  It is made of Oak.

Over the years the original coat hangers have broken and been replaced with what ever was at had.  It is standing right now in our Entrance Way.  Looks good

New FO's for March 2012

New FO's is it gives me permission to start a new project. There is no pressure to finish it. I love it. It lets the creative juices flow.

It wasn't until March that I actually got started on the Holly Jolly Quilt for Christmas.  Since the first block I've decided not to do this as a multi-color  work, but as a red-work only.  This means that I have to re-embroider this multi-color block as a red-work block.

Holly Jolly Quilt Block
Things have been slow going around here this month - heavy allergies and a cold have left me getting only a few things done this month.  Ah - gee sometimes I have to kick back for a bit.

Go on over to Barbara’s blog Cat Patches and see the new March projects that everyone has started.
