Show 'n Tell ~ May 2012

These are pictures from the Bernina Software Sampler and Embroidery Club that I teach at Bernina Northwest in Seattle.

Donna's Cool Ties
Donna D. and her husband made these "Cool Ties" for their trip to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.  He'll be riding his Harley with his friends and Donna will be driving her Corvette.   She is the entourage!

Pat's One Block Wonder
Back of  One Block Wonder
This is Pat H.'s "One Block Wonder" Quilt.  Pat quilted it on the diagonal with a running stitch.  You will be able to see the quilting better on the back side of the quilt.  The quilt just needs the binding and label to complete it.  Pat will be teaching this class in June.

Kathy's Chloe Quilt
Kathy C. finished her Chloe Quilt.  It is beautiful!   She made it using her 730E.  Kathy had multi-hooping on almost all of her embroidery designs.  She also did the quilting, and embroidered label and the scalloped binding.

Maxine's Wall Hanging
S/W Sampler Fabric Tote
Maxine E. made this White, Black and Red Wall-hanging using embroidery designs built into her 830E.  Turned out great.
She made her Textured Fabric from Software into this wonderful tote bag.

Ukulele Case
Maxine E. made several Ukulele Cases while she and her husband were in Arizona this year.  She used Hawaiian fabrics and the cases turned out great.

Show 'n Tell ~ March 2012

These are pictures from the Bernina Software Sampler and Embroidery Club that I teach at Bernina Northwest in Seattle.

Back of Bag
Front of Bag
Virginia S. made this bag at our DIY - Sew 'n Go Tote event using the new B~580 embroidery and sewing machines.  They had fun making these lined tote bags.

Software Sampler - Embroidered Texture
Maxine E. made this fabric on the left from the February Software Sampler "Embroidered Texture" class.  To create the fabric we used the embroidered needle punch, embroidered couching with yarn and dimensional ribbon embroidery using the embroidery unit.  Great techniques and lots of fun.

Pink Lemonade Quilt

Maxine E. also made the beautiful "Pink Lemonade" Quilt to the right.  It is from the book Pink Lemonade and Other Delights by Linda Johnson.

Miranda H.

Miranda H.
Miranda H.  made up the night skyline of Seattle for the front of a card.  Very pretty.  And she made up a Medical Supplies fob Meds Bag.  Clever idea.

Donna D.

Some more Show 'n Tell

We had our last Software Sampler of 2011 yesterday at Bernina Northwest.   The Joy Wall Hanging was the project using applique made in the Bernina Embroidery Software.   The  J O Y  lettering can be cut with the CutWork tool.  We are already looking forward to this program for 2012. Here are some more pictures.

Fabric Bowls

Group of Fabric Bowls
For the June 2011 Software Sampler the project was digitizing and using the embroidery module to create these fun fabric bowls.  What started as making a couple fabric bowls turned into ten fabric bowls.  They were a great lesson in the Bernina Software using Art Canvas to create this project.

Design Wall Monday - June 20, 2011

So much to do - I need more hours in a day for my sewing!  I'm already behind on the start of a busy week.  So get ready, here it goes.

Inside of fabric bowl
The Bernina Software Sampler project was so much fun to make.  I decided to digitized 2 more fabric bowls using pictures from last year.  The pictures are now printed on fabric for the inside of the bowl.  So they are almost ready to go.   Need to finish the bocks for the guild's Block Lotto. And then back to the Chloe quilt Flying geese blocks.

Go on over to Judy's Patchwork Times and see what everyone else has on their design walls this week.

Stash Report - Week 25

Nothing in again this week!  Yeah again!   Only a little fabric out  -  approximately 1/4 yard for the Quilt Guild Block Lotto and about 1/3 yard for the Software Sampler fabric bowls.  Still not enough piecing done on the Flying Geese Blocks for the Chloe quilt to count.  Next week I'll be trying to get all 63 Flying Geese blocks on the Chloe Quilt done and maybe more.   Well, that's the plan anyway . . .

Stash Busting  - Week 25

Book Cover

I was going to make another book cover for a new notebook.  I had made this book cover for the July 2009 Software Sampler.  At the time I didn't think I would like it because of the outside edges being bound, but as worked out I do like the way it turned out.  The book cover uses Vicki Tracey's design collection Travel 'N Style #871.  It was fun to make, I enjoyed embellishing the grosgrain ribbon with stitches and I did extra 'fancy pants' quilting on the back cover and inside flaps.
