Good Bye 2013

Sigh.  Should be a Very Big Sigh.  I didn't post in 2013.  At the start of the year I was happy with what I had learned here blogging.  And I then I got sick and it take me now a long time to get over minor colds and other things.  But later in the year I kept thinking I would like to start blogging again.  Little things held me back.  I don't have time to post everyday, so I won't try.  I will try to stay on the healthy side, get out more, exercise more and work with Tucker more this year.  I want to spend more time in the sewing studio.  Yippee!  I have a new Bernina 880 sewing/embroidery machine to start the new year with.  And the new Bernina Embroidery Software 7, too!  So there you have it.  I'm getting ready to start a new year,   No resolutions, just keep at it every day.  What are your plans for 2014?

April 24th ~ 15 Minute Challenge

What a mess in my Sewing room Studio.  I always have a hard time referring to it as my Sewing Studio, but that is what it is.   Do you find it hard to refer to your creative area as a Sewing Studio, or do you call my Sewing Room or something else?  Need to get things - fabrics, threads and embellishment items sorted and put away.  Doesn't need to be perfect, I like some creative clutter but not the current mess.  Well, it might be another "Once in a Blue Moon" before it is ever so clean and organized again.

Stash Report 2012 - Week 1

I was soooo veeery goood last week.  I wanted to go sale shopping . . .  but, I resisted all of the big end of the year fabric sales.   My fingers didn't do the walking and go shopping on line either.  I didn't buy anything!  I really don't need anything as I have my fabric for upcoming projects.    I'm almost finished with all of the financial organization for 2011.  Finishing that is now the top of my list, no more treating myself to just a little sewing until it is done.  I did get just a little sewing and mending done, ironing too.   I decided the the sewing studio need to be picked up and things put away rather than have things strewn all over.  Amazing the things you find that need to be put away.   It is easier to be creative and really get to work on projects when I have room to work.   The sewing studio almost looks as good as it did here in 2010.

Stash Report - Week 48

I'm ever hopeful that I'll get more sewing done than I sometimes do.  That was the case this past week.  Although  I did get a some sewing done, I wanted to do more, but unfortunately it didn't happen.  So not enough done this week  to count any fabric out, and I didn't buy any fabric even though I was at one of my favorite fabric stores for the big Black Friday Sale.    However, I did purchase these cute decorator trunks that I can use for storage in the sewing studio.   With Thanksgiving Holiday week, and the I think the stitches in my mouth bothered me more than I expected, I think it all went pretty well.  The house looked nice, we got our baking done, made lots of good food and had a wonderful time visiting with the family over the weekend.

Once in a Blue Moon

Yesterday and today I spent cleaning up and cleaning out my sewing loft. Guess there is a truth to the once in a blue moon . . . cleaning the sewing loft. All of my other errands have been run and chores done. I wanted to sew but decided it would be nice to sort out and through projects that will be finished and not. Put away stabilizers, threads by color number and even made of list of Isacord colors I'm missing,- amazing I’m only missing 7 colors, but I have lots of duplicates that I sorted out hopefully to be used first. Re-organized and put away fabrics. Whew!!! Feels good!!! Wouldn't it be nice if I could keep it this way --- hohohoho!!! Took some new pictures, who know when things may be this neat again??? My sewing loft is good sized, it measures 18'9" x 17'8" and overlooks the living room. I should be ready to start sewing and embroidery 2010. Two of the sewing tables have quilters leafs that are not opened up in the pictures. I keep my embroidery threads organized – at least for now – in 4 cabinets (you can only see 3 of them) under the opened quilters leaf.

New Years Eve blue moon is the first one since 1990 and won't roll around for another 19 years. So tonight I'll celebrate the New Year and blue moon shining down. Blessings for a Happy, Healthy New Year.

PS: I made a mistake on this post and short of deleting this post and replacing it, I decided to leave it for now. So see if you can find the Easter-Egg photo in this post. It may not show up in some browsers.

the first posting

First day, a first for everything. Starting off with my first post. I'm going to try to share some projects, maybe a lesson, some pictures. I love living in the Pacific Northwest with my dear husband Derin (pictured with Dixie), one of our 2 GSH dogs and my quarterhorse Tucker and Rosie his friend. I'm so lucky to work for a local Bernina Dealer teaching embroidery software and mastery classes.  I'll take some pictures of my sewing loft, I hesitate to call it a studio, I don't feel like an artist . . . but loft fits for me.
